The City of Nelson has embarked upon a planning process to redesign the public spaces of the downtown core. As both downtown infrastructure and the heritage revitalization of the 1980s have aged, locals are now being consulted on their vision for the future of Nelson’s commercial district. The ‘Urban Design Strategy’ community consultation process will focus on the livability of the downtown core and will consider such things as signage, sidewalk patios, lighting, street furniture, bike parking, art, landscaping and public amenities like electric charging stations and public washrooms.
This website is part of a multifaceted communications drive by the city to engage residents and business owners in a creative visioning process for the downtown core.
As usual, we have given them a fast-loading and fully responsive site that works on everything from phones to desktop and can be easily managed by city staff.
Concept and visual design are by Pink Dog Designs (Nichola Lytle) of Nelson.
